Competing in the national competition in Melbourne was one of his life goals, and there he was making it into the top 10 and then the top 5. And then he was awarded the second place medal.
“I can’t explain the feeling to achieve this in my first show,” Mr Ibardolaza said. “It really has made all the hard work worthwhile.”
He said he is able to compete in novice again as he did not win the category. But Mr Ibardolaza will focus on competing in the men’s open next year so he can work towards his pro card.
“This is just the beginning. I plan to compete every year.
“This is my dream and I will chase it,” Mr Ibardolaza said.
