The watch area is currently a wide area from Cape Tribulation to Proserpine.
The cyclone is expected to make landfall Saturday evening or Sunday morning.
By Monday rain areas, windy conditions, showers and thunderstorms are expected to extend inland near and to the south of the system, but is highly dependent on the strength and location of the system.
It should push further inland during Tuesday and beyond, but there is a lot of uncertainty with its expected path.
Rain, showers, and possible storms are likely to affect areas near the tropical system. The seven day outlook for inland towns such as Hughenden and Richmond is for rain increasing towards the middle of the week.
