It will be alleged that on March 14, police observed injuries to a dog which was were consistent with animal cruelty.
Police were assisted by Mount Isa City Council to provide veterinary care and shelter for the animal.
The 27-year-old Parkside man has been charged with two counts of animal cruelty and will appear before the Mount Isa Magistrates Court on April 10.
