The Foundation honours Roma-born rugby league immortal Arthur Beetson and organisers say the venue chosen this year is in support of the 150 year anniversary of Cloncurry Shire.
The Arthur Beetson Foundation Outback Junior Trials with transform the town when the carnival arrives from May 18 to 21.
The teams consist of Under 14, Under 16 and Under 18 players from the Southern Outback covering areas such as Roma, St George, Mitchell, Charleville, Blackall, Barcaldine, Longreach to Winton and the Northern Outback covering Mountt Isa, Cloncurry, Hughenden and communities up to the Cape including Normanton.

A major partner in this annual event is the involvement of the Queensland Police Service.
A component of the annual carnival is the education component which is delivered by Murray Hurst from the NRL after the Meet and Greet on the Friday night.
The education component covers important subjects such as domestic violence, drugs and social media..
The QPS concentrates on Outback Police recruitment to mainstream policing and Stock squads.
This year a Qld Police Rugby League Team will play against a Northern Outback representative team as the final game of the day.
A carnival dinner sponsored by Elliot’s Transport and Plant Hire will be held at the Cloncurry Shire Hall on Saturday evening.
At this event Council representatives, QPS hierarchy, QRL officials, Brad Beetson, sponsors and teams will be in attendance where the Outback Under 14, Under 16 and Under 18 representative teams will be announced.
These teams travel to the Sunshine Coast to compete in Cultural Exchange Carnival which takes place onn the weekend of June 24-25.
The local mining companies and local contractors have got right behind Cloncurry Shire Council to sponsor the event and make it possible.
A recent successful player through the Outback RL pathway is Cowboys second rower Coen Hess.
Cloncurry shire councillor and local police sergeant Brad Rix hailed the event at last week’s council community consultation session.
“The juniors will place rep footy and the Queensland Police team will play the Northern Outback invitational side, there will be recruiting seminars and information sessions,” Cr Rix said.
“It all takes place over at the footy field and there will be more information closer to the time.”
Cr Rix said Cloncurry would also host futsal events in the Great Western Games in June school holidays at the PCYC.
