Co-hosts ABC North West estimate ten thousand visitors may make their way to the town for the free one-day all-ages festival.
Just how the town will cope with this rise in population is not a problem, according to Mayor Joyce McCulloch.
“As Mount Isa experiences a large influx of people into the city each year for rodeo, we are well placed to accommodate people attending the One Night Stand,” Cr McCulloch said.
“We have 20 accommodation providers in Mount Isa providing more than 800 rooms, as well as several caravan and camping parks.
Once accommodation providers book out, we will open additional camping facilities at different points throughout the city.

“Once accommodation providers book out, we will open additional camping facilities at different points throughout the city,” Cr McCulloch said.
“This will be supported by a bus service that will transport people to and from the venue from a number of locations throughout the city, as well offering car parking at these locations.”
It is not yet clear where the camping sites will be offered.
Immediately after the announcement was made, Mount Isa City Council was in contact with all accommodation and food service providers to inform them of the news.
Cr McCulloch said they will continue to keep them informed of any new information as the event plans progress.
Expressions of interest are now open for food vendors – not-for-profit local groups only, and the council expects to host at least 15 at the event.
“Mount Isa City Council is incredibly excited to be working on this event, and along with MIETV, Emergency Services in Mount Isa, and Triple J, are looking forward to providing great services and facilities to make sure this event is one of the best that Mount Isa has seen,” Cr McCulloch said.
