It is understood that the Burketown Indigenous leader and a witness fought outside the courthouse last Thursday.
Mount Isa Police Station’s officer-in-charge, Senior Sergeant Renee Hanrahan, would not confirm Mr Yanner’s involvement in a fight that did happen outside the courthouse that day.
She said that a man had been involved in a fight relating to public nuisance and assault.
But police would not make further comment due to its connection to a district court matter, Senior Sergeant Hanrahan said.
Mr Yanner was accused of dangerous operation of a vehicle, threats, and common assault alleged to have happened on October 3, 2014, in Old Doomadgee.
The Director of Public Prosecutions discontinued the trial at 10.10am, last Thursday.
