At the monthly shoot held in Cloncurry, the North Queensland Clay Target Association donated $7500 each to the McGrath Foundation and Prostate Cancer Foundation.
Association secretary, Diane Reeves, said after much research on where to donate too, they came to the decision based on the most common in the area.
“Choosing these two charities was the best thing we have done,” she said.
“Raising the profile of McGrath Foundation and Prostate Cancer we made pink and blue club shirts, pink ammunition, pink clay targets and special designed labels for bottled water.
“Over the last two years that we have been raising money we have donated a total of $15,000 to each charity, which is a fantastic effort.”
Ms Reeves said most of the donations had come from sales of bottled water.
“We have sold 15 palates of bottled water to clubs and businesses in Cloncurry, Normanton, Cooktown, Ingham and Townsville,” she said.
“It has been a big effort from everyone and we will continue to sell the bottled water and hopefully donate more money to these charities in the near future.”
