Nineteen-year-old, station hand from Clermont, Aaron Kleier, was the overall champion on the night beating some of the best bull riders in the country.
Complete with thrills and spills that heightened the excitement of the event, Aaron was ecstatic with his win after only joining the PBR in January this year.
“This was my first time to Julia Creek to compete so I am thrilled to take out the win tonight in front of this crowd,” he said.
“I was really pleased with my first round, bit disappointed with my last ride. Overall it was good I got some points and money.”
Aaron has been around rodeo is whole life with his father owning Kleier Bucking Bulls and contracting for rodeos around Clermont.
“If I am not away at a rodeo, I head out there and jump on a few practice bulls,” Aaron said.
“I just do it to have fun and when I think about competing it makes my hairs stand up, it’s something I love doing.
During his short professional career, Aaron has already been over to America to compete in the Youth World Finals and will return again this year.
He said his overall goal was to travel to the states to compete in the Built Ford Tough Series.
“I would like to think I am on the right track but I need to stay on bulls longer,” Aaron joked.
