Former New Zealand international Daryl Halligan and Raiders captain Jarrod Croker both listed Soliola as one of several Green Machine players who would be part of a Kiwi audition at Canberra Stadium on Saturday.

The Raiders play the New Zealand Warriors in a round seven NRL clash that could give an indication of the Kiwis' line-up against Australia in the final Anzac Test at Canberra Stadium on May 5.

Both Halligan, who previously held the NRL point-scoring record, and Croker, who holds the same mantle for the Raiders, said Soliola, Jordan Rapana and Joe Tapine would be looking to impress against their fellow countrymen.

But Soliola didn't think he was in NZ coach David Kidwell's equation.

"I don't think that will happen, as honoured as I would be to play for New Zealand. I'm pretty sure Dave Kidwell's looking elsewhere and rightfully so as well because he's got some really good depth," Soliola said.

"My thoughts coming back here was more so for Canberra and winning a premiership ... so whatever happens I don't really have any intentions to play for New Zealand because I know they're in good form."

Halligan labelled Rapana a walk-up starter for New Zealand and said selectors would not regret picking young gun Tapine and Soliola.

Soliola told Fairfax Media earlier this year he was more likely to play for Samoa at this year's World Cup rather than New Zealand.

He played for Samoa at the 2013 World Cup and narrowly missed the New Zealand Four Nations touring squad last season.

While Soliola has written himself off, Halligan has backed him to play an important role for the Kiwis.

"Sia is my favourite player of all time," he said.

"Unless you know the operations of Sia and how he goes about his business, you don't understand his value. On the field he's a constant and a real workaholic, Canberra certainly picked up a gem there.

"In terms of being back in a black jersey, he wouldn't be out of place character-wise as well as performance.

"I'm not a selector but they wouldn't be making a mistake if his name was yelled out. He certainly brings a lot."

Halligan expected Kidwell to take a keen interest in the clash, especially given the Warriors had the "Kiwi spine" in their team.

Kieran Foran, Shaun Johnson, Issac Luke and Roger Tuivasa-Sheck should all play for the Kiwis in the Anzac Test next month.

Rapana scored a club record 23 tries for the Green Machine in 2016 and already has seven this campaign.

The speedster is in devastating touch and topped the NRL try-scorers list going into the round with many touting him to earn Dally M winger honours this year.

Halligan was excited about the prospect of Rapana and Tuivasa-Sheck teaming up in the backline.

"He's been great hasn't he. On the end-of-year Kiwi tour last year Jordan wasn't short of the tryline and he's already got seven this year," he said.

"You wonder what buttons he's pushed to get himself in this sort of form. And his speed, I've never seen him faster, even way back at the [Gold Coast] Titans.

"He's enjoying his football and his try scoring feats bring a lot of confidence, but it probably helps having Joey Leilua inside him."

Croker thought all three Kiwi Raiders were relishing their chance to take on their countrymen on Saturday.

"I'm sure a lot of their players will make up the Kiwi side. Guys like Jordy Rapana and Joe Tapine, and even Sia Soliola, it will be as good chance for them to measure up against the Kiwi boys," he said.

"They've all been playing good footy and I'm sure they're looking forward to the opportunity."
