Former rugby league player Matthew Bowen and partner Rudy Doyle bought the store with Rudy's brother John and his wife, Jaunita.
While Matthew and Rudy are based in Townsville, Jaunita and John will manage the Mount Isa store at 27 Miles Street in the Hub Arcade.
Jaunita said this weekend’s launch is about showing the community what Ruby & Birdie has in store, including clothing for adults.
“We just want to introduce ourselves and let everyone know the new direction we’re taking,” she said.
New brands will be released on Friday, including matching items for parents and children.
Jaunita said the Arch n Ollie headbands and Marlee watches have been popular.
The store joins Best Barbers next door for this Friday’s opening, and hopes other stores will join them at future arcade late nights.
“We want to bring the other stores together and make it more of a community thing,” said co-owner John Doyle.
Fresh winter stock will be available on the night, with summer arriving later in the year.
