Parking will also be available at Buchanan Park.

Parts of Nandina Street, Buckley Street, Second Ave, Twentyfirst Ave, Twentythird Ave, and Seventeenth Ave will be closed from 2pm to midnight for pedestrian safety, but local access to properties will still be possible.

There is still plenty of accommodation at motels and campsites, but in the event of it selling out council will open a camping ground.

The free all-ages event is drug and alcohol free.

Triple J states there is to be no glass, fireworks, weapons, banners, eskies, or portable furniture on site.

Food and drink stalls will be operated by community groups throughout the evening.

Mayor Joyce McCulloch said Mount Isa City Council is very excited to help host the event.

“I’d like to see as many community members support this event as possible. There will be lots of fun to be had and this certainly is a once in a lifetime opportunity for Mount Isa,” Cr McCulloch said.
