The local indigenous man won his spot on the bill by taking out Triple J’s Unearthed competition but he proved he could mix it with the best on the night.
Lucky Luke sees himself as a storyteller in a hip hop format and he performed his Unearthed winning song “Jacks” inspired by his love of his own locality - Pioneer.
“Jacks is about all the social issues in a low income area of Mount Isa,” Luke said.
“It’s also about (not letting) your surroundings define who you are.”
Lucky Luke followed up his performance on the same night at the Irish Club opening for Fatman Scoop.
