Four attendees were caught trying to enter Tony White Oval with cannabis and ecstasy, said Mount Isa’s officer-in-charge, Senior Sergeant Renee Hanrahan.
She said they have been charged with possession of dangerous drugs and will appear before the Mount Isa Magistrates Court.
Another One Night Stand attendee was charged and arrested after being refused entry into the grounds.
Senior Sergeant Hanrahan said the attendee arrived intoxicated “and did not take kindly” to enforcement when told to leave.
She was pleased with the rate of incidents in comparison to the 7000 attendees at Triple J’s event which featured The Smith Street Band, Tash Sultana, San Cisco, Lucky Luke, and Thundamentals.
Senior Sergeant Hanrahan credited the low “encouraging” rate to the pre-planning of police and stakeholders including the Mount Isa City Council, as well as ABC and Triple J.
