An audience of 7000 people was blown away at Triple J’s One Night Stand at Tony White Oval in Mount Isa, but Tash admitted on stage that she almost pulled the plug.

"I'm really glad I could be here tonight because we were pretty close to calling it because I was sick… but then I saw your faces and I was like 'aww'," said Tash.

The soulful, self-taught Melbourne artist was due to perform at the Metro Theatre in Sydney on Monday and Tuesday this week.

Tash posted the following message on her Facebook page yesterday:

“Really hurts me to let everyone know that due to being strongly advised by a doctor to not sing for the next few days I have had to postpone my Sydney shows.”

“There was a very high chance I could've risked permanent damage on my vocal chords by trying to sing with laryngitis.

“I've never had to do this before but I've re scheduled them for June 7 & 8 at the Enmore theatre.

“I need to heal at the moment, bodies (sic) burnt out. Peace x .”

Fans were very supportive with more than 750 “get well” comments.

The shows have been rescheduled to June 7 and 8 at Enmore Theatre. 

Regional touring festival Groovin the Moo also has her on the line up from April 28 – May 13 in all six states of Australia, but some fans predict she may not be well enough to show.

Her headline tour continues through May in Australia, New Zealand, Europe, Canada and the USA.

After selling out theatres all over the world and playing festivals galore, it’s no wonder this musician’s voicebox needs a break.

It seems fans in north west Queensland can count their lucky stars for seeing this artist at Triple J’s One Night Stand.
