The young women took it upon themselves to plan the ‘Morning Teal’ event.
Senior Schooling teacher Theresa Smith said they worked hard baking, icing and decorating 235 cupcakes.
“We wanted to start up a charity committee to get these events happening. These 12 girls volunteered, and decided to sell cupcakes,” Ms Smith said.
“It’s been a good success and they’ve gotten a lot of joy out of it,” she said.
Some of the decorations were handmade by the students, who wore teal ribbons for awareness.
Olivia Fricke said the idea and production was a group effort.
“It took us about an hour to bake all these cupcakes which was good, very productive!” she said.
$2 for each cake, plus staff donations, will go to Ovarian Cancer Australia.
Students also researched ovarian cancer and shared the information on posters.
