It's no secret the West Coast need to inject some speed into their midfield, so it could be time for Matt Priddis to play more of a tagging role and the Eagles to throw some youth into the middle.

The Eagles need to search for more leg speed and Priddis was struggling to get across the ground to contests at the MCG against the Hawks on the weekend.
Priddis still laid something like 11 tackles against the Hawks, but that's when blokes were near him - he doesn't look like chasing players down when they spread from the contest.
Don't get me wrong, Priddis is still good enough to play in the side but he should change his game style and become a Tony Liberatore-type tagger (The former Bulldogs hard nut was one of the most aggressive defensive taggers in the game in the early 90s).
Especially now when the Eagles have Sam Mitchell in their side who plays a similar role to Priddis.
So when the Eagles play the Cats, Priddis could be assigned to a player like Joel Selwood.
It won't stop Priddis getting the ball and he can still bring players into the game with his handball.
The Hawks tore the Eagles apart with their run and West Coast can't keep playing the same game style, where players look like they are treading water.
Adam Simpson needs to make some tough calls on a number of players including Josh Hill and even Mark LeCras. Those players won't be at West Coast the next time the Eagles are in contention to win a premiership.
I know Francis Watson is on the rookie list but why not give him a go?
Some players become better players when they are around better footballers.
Look at Essendon: they keep unearthing young players. Who would have thought Anthony McDonald-Tipungwuti would be as good as he is?
If you inject a bit of youth and urgency you might start seeing more one-percenters and that's what's missing with the Eagles at the moment.
The Eagles have to come out firing this week after a number of past players called them 'soft' and 'mummy's boys' after the Hawks ran all over them.
I have been saying for a while the Eagles have a soft underbelly, but if was Adam Simpson I would be showing the players all the newspaper stories saying 'look they think we are soft'.
Players say they don't listen to what the media say, or read the newspapers - trust me they do.
Simpson is in the perfect position to rev up and fire up his players this week, but in saying that I can't see the Eagles winning the Derby.
The Eagles are red-hot favourites but the market has got that wrong.
I just think Nat Fyfe, David Mundy and Lachie Neale will get too much of the ball, because Aaron Sandilands will have a huge influence on the game.
Even if Nathan Vardy manages to compete with Sandilands, when Vardy is left to his own devices he looks a little bit disinterested.
Heroes of the week: Aaron Sandilands playing his 250th is a pretty good effort. When I first saw him I thought he was just a big giraffe, but over the journey he's been pretty good. And Perth Glory: Who would have thought before Christmas the Glory could be one game away from playing in a grand final?

Things that make you go hmmm: Sydney Swans Kieran Jack has been barely sighted in the five games this year. In fact, the whole Swans' midfield has been disappointing.
