The AOC announced on Wednesday night that it would submit to the review, but it would be overseen by new chief executive Matt Carroll.
The move represented a modest victory for three rebel directors led by Andrew Plympton who are seeking to dislodge John Coates after 27 years in the job, and replace him with former Hockeyroo Roche.
"My belief is that investigation needs to be done by independent parties and they need to be done in an urgent matter and addressed very thoroughly," Roche said on Wednesday.
The veteran sporting administrator admitted an interview review would put the CEO in a difficult situation.
"I believe that it could, either perceived or real, put Matt in a compromised position," she said.
