McKinlay artist Heather Moore will run the workshop which was funded through the Queensland Government’s Regional Arts Development Fund.
The club applied for $1500 which paid for Ms Moore’s expertise across two days as well as raised funds for the club.
Club secretary Margarete Cotter said the course was at basic beginner level. Attendees would learn to use the tools necessary for silversmithing.
The workshop was created as a way for the lapidary club to bring in new members. The club has struggled for numbers.
But through the lead-up to the workshop – which was not advertised and yet filled its spots – has attracted three new members for the club.
