Last year events like the Mount Isa Rotary Rodeo and Winton’s Australian Age of Dinosaurs won awards with the rodeo going on to win at the national awards.
QTIC Chief Executive Daniel Gschwind said the 33rd annual Queensland Tourism Awards were set to be better than ever.
“Outback tourism operators continue to make a huge contribution to the industry in the State, and it was fantastic to see Mount Isa Rotary Rodeo taking home a Gold at the 2016 Queensland awards and going on to win Gold at the national awards,” he said.
“We’re really looking forward to seeing more entrants from the Outback.”
