The annual NSW/ACT representative round will have extra meaning this year following the booming success of the inaugural AFLW season.

With a 63 per cent player participation increase in women's football in the ACT this season, representative honours have never carried such prestige.

Belconnen Magpie Hannah Wallet and Gungahlin Jet Britt Tully were two of the first selected after picking up where they left off from stellar campaigns with the the GWS Giants.

The AFLW-experienced duo will lead the ACT side and believe their time in the professional ranks will shine through on Saturday.

"We picked up a lot about being professional, we'll just do what we can and put it on the table against Riverina," Wallet said.

With Australian women's football under the spotlight like never before the players will get a golden opportunity to showcase their talents against some the game's elite in a bid to play at the next level.

"A lot of the girls have seen the AFL on TV but they don't have the opportunity to experience that environment. Getting the opportunity to play at a rep level, that's the next step," Wallet said.

"Any opportunity we get from the ACT or the Riverina to showcase our talents is a good one."

The duo are not concerned about a heavy forecast, with Tully relishing the challenge of wet weather football.

"A lot of the time we play at night and get wet weather, I think if we play our own game and go hard at the football, we'll be OK," Tully said.

The match will be played at Robertson Oval.
