Festival Committee president Tony McGrady said the Isa Race Club would be the venue this Friday for a music event with entertainment provided by local band Off the Cuff.
“The other highlight of the evening will be an open invitation to any person to come along and sing or play a musical instrument or provide entertainment to the audience, Mr McGrady said.
The event is on Friday from 7-11.30pm with a bar and a sausage sizzle with a $5 entry fee.
Mr McGrady said the role of the committee was to encourage and support locals who wanted to perform and expand their music and singing skills.
“The evening will provide professional entertainment but at the same time give locals the opportunity to display their skills,” he said.
“The committee were lucky and fortunate in having the services of a number of people who had dedicated their spare time to providing music and entertainment in a very professional way to the people of the city.”
Mr. McGrady said he was hopeful the event would be a success and the start of many initiatives to encourage people with talent to entertain the general public.
“That is the role of our Festival Committee,” he said.
“We stand ready to assist those people with talent.”
