It's understood the Demons have eyes on Jakobsson, who was initially offered up by the Blues in exchange for Lions marquee forward Harris, who wants to move to Victoria, with Carlton her preferred club.

But Jakobsson has resisted the Lions' overtures, with the Demons coming into the frame to acquire the player taken by Carlton at pick three in last year's inaugural AFLW draft.

The Blues remain keen on Harris, but Jakobsson's resistance has complicated the situation. The Lions had asked for two players in exchange for the forward, who had also been in the sights of the Demons. The AFL must tick off any trade, with the league mindful of ensuring competitive balance is retained.

Meanwhile Collingwood's Alicia Eva looks likely to join Greater Western Sydney, although a third club could be required to ensure the deal goes through. Eva wants to play in Sydney for non-football reasons.

She finished second in the Pies' best and fairest behind Nic Stevens, who became the first player in AFLW history to be traded when she was sent along with a fourth-round pick to Carlton last week in exchange for the Blues' first three draft picks.

On Monday, the Magpies also announced that Australian volleyballer Eliza Hynes had been signed by the club.

Hynes, who was chosen for the national women's volleyball team in 2014, is 25 years old and 183 centimetres tall, and will be utilised in the ruck for the Pies. It is her first time playing Australian rules football.

"I grew up with my dad being a die-hard Collingwood fan and brother playing football so I've always been around the game and now having the opportunity to play is a dream come true," Hynes told the club's website.

"I'll look at being a forward and back-up ruck, I'll be looking at those areas to really try and make an impact on the game."

Collingwood's AFLW coach Wayne Siekman said they were impressed with her kicking.

"For someone that's never played before her skills and technique are very impressive and exciting for the coaches, playing group and supporters," he told the club's website.

"She's got a great kick and we'll work with her to build her understanding of the game."

Few other stars are expected to be traded before Friday's deadline, although several fringe players could find new homes. Clubs are also in the process of making their re-signings for the second AFLW season.
