The father of a teenager who was "cowardly attacked" in Redcliffe says the past 11 days have been a "roller coaster" of anger and anxiety as his son remains in an induced coma.

Joshua Waite, 17, hit his head on bitumen after he was allegedly kicked in the face as he tried to leave an argument that had broken out the front of McDonalds at Redcliffe on the evening of Friday, May 12.
He was rushed to the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital where he remains in an induced coma in the intensive care unit.
His father issued a statement on Tuesday revealing the "living hell" his family was going through.
"I have never cried so much and hurt so much in my life as we struggle to remain strong and positive waiting for our beautiful son to return," he said.
"Every day is a roller coaster of hurt, anguish, anxiety, anger and emotions. We are just trying to get through hour by hour."
His sister Ashley pleaded for her brother and "best friend" to start getting better.
"I just want to give you a hug without 10 cords getting in the way," she posted to Facebook.
"When you wake up I dont (sic) know how you will act, if you will remember how to walk or to talk, your personality might be different I might not have the Josh I know back but the main point is, is at least I will have my caring, protective brother back."
The teenager underwent surgery last Friday to reduce swelling in his skull.
The surgery was successful however there has been no positive improvement in his condition, his Aunt Raiha Hooker said.
"They have delayed the attempt in lifting any sedation because he is too unstable," she said.
Mr Waite said Josh's mum Rachel and his sister Ashley hadn't left the "kind, caring" teenager's bedside since the attack.
"Rachel, Joshy's mum, had Mother's Day planned with Josh and Ashley going out for lunch and where Joshy was looking forward to 'feeding his face' (his words)," he said.
"Today is Rachel's birthday, sitting in intensive care with only one wish, for our Joshy to come home."
Accused attacker Jake Law-Cobbo, 18, was charged with grievous bodily harm and denied bail when he appeared at Redcliffe Magistrates Court on May 17.
He is scheduled for a committal mention on July 5.
