The C150 steam train arrives in Cloncurry on the Thursday with people able to take a ride as it competes two day trips on the Friday and the Sunday of the show weekend.
Show society president Drew Hacon said the 38th Cloncurry Show will highlight the history of agriculture, mining, and services the shire has provided over time. “With a nod to the past, the committee are aiming to showcase the history of the town, while having a great line-up of attractions and entertainment,” Mr Hacon said.
“The 2017 Cloncurry Show will be the best in the west.”
Mr Hacon said the show society had many new committee members this year. The executive committee has created an organisational structure which ensured members gave new ideas to build on the existing format of previous years. “It’s an exciting time to be involved.”
The Cloncurry Show is on June 16 and 17.
