Emergency services were called to the James Hardie facility on Cobalt Street in Carole Park about 1.20am, but the 63-year-old man died at the scene.
A Workplace Health and Safety Queensland spokesman said initial information indicated the worker's head was crushed by a scissor-lift device.
"We've had inspector, investigator and engineer on site all day," the spokesman said on Saturday.
The WH&S investigation was continuing and a report would be prepared for coroner.
