The annual Outback Youth Has Talent competition is the work of the Mount Isa Youth Council and Cr Peta Macrae, and this year will feature mentor and judge Tim Omaji, better known as Timomatic, the singer-songwriter and dancer of So You Think You Can Dance fame.
Cr Macrae said the event was shaping up to be extremely exciting, with a number of sponsors on board, including headspace, allowing for a special workshop with Timomatic, and a terrific cash prize pool for competitors.
Cr MacRae said she encouraged the community to get excited about the event and support Mount Isa’s talented youth as they brave it out onstage to showcase their talent.
“This has been a wonderful initiative of the Youth Council and it really makes for a special event when we have our city’s youth perform for us, and community members turning out to support them,” Cr MacRae said.
Full details will be released later this month, as nominations open.
