There are just two senior entrants this year, one of which will be chosen to represent Mount Isa as 2017 Showgirl.
More than just a beauty pageant, Mount Isa Show Society looks for girls and women with local knowledge and a passion for rural life.
The senior showgirl age restrictions are from 18 to 28 and teen showgirl is 13 to 17.
Show organisers say the competition is about getting involved with the community and promoting the local show, being a rural ambassador for Mount Isa, and raising the profile of Queensland shows.

Tahlia Cook has just finished her schooling in Mount Isa after relocating here with her father two and a half years ago.
She was delighted to ask to stand for Mount Isa Show Girl and can’t wait to attend the show as an entrant this year.
Ms Cook says the competition is a good way to engage with the community, get to know some people and promote the show.

Danielle has only been in Mount Isa for twelve months, and has already settled into country life.
