“From my discussions with councils in my electorate the one consensus was for the Works for Queensland funding to continue,” he said. “I will be working with the councils wherever possible to take advantage of the funding to drive local employment and completion of small local infrastructure projects to aid their communities.”
Councils in the region with additional funds allocated over two years include:
Boulia Shire – $1.03m, Burke Shire - $1.18m, Carpentaria Shire - $1.71m, Cloncurry Shire – $1.37m, Croydon Shire - $1.03m, Diamantina Shire $1.02m, Doomadgee Aboriginal Shire - $1.44m, Etheridge Shire Council - $1.07m, Flinders Shire - $1.1m, McKinlay Shire - $1.06m, Mornington Shire - $1.38m, Mount Isa City - $2.91m, Richmond Shire - $1.05m, Winton Shire - $1.08m
