Mount Isa MP Robbie Katter has stressed the importance of local jobs after contractor ESS announced it will be holding an interview roadshow in Mount Isa on Tuesday (June 27) for the MMG Dugald River project.

“I’m urging ESS to hire as many locals as possible,” Robbie said. ESS is part of the Compass Group – an international hospitality company with a strong focus on hiring locals not only for the Dugald River project, but also Mount Isa Mines and Capricorn Copper.”
Mr Katter said it was vital locals get the first opportunity for jobs at Dugald River.
ESS are village managers for the Dugald Mine project and are filling positions for housekeepers, mine site cleaners, kitchenhands, bus drivers, administration staff, some trades and ground staff.
“I am told that there are also opportunities available at Mount Isa Mines and Capricorn Copper with ESS, so hiring is not limited to only the Dugald mine project,” Mr Katter said.
