One of the most popular range of visitor experiences on offer for the rodeo are the behind the scenes chute tours. These popular tours give rodeo fans a guided tour behind the chutes, normally strictly off limits during competition, except to competitors and officials.
These tours are available only in combination with a “Gold” class seat, which guarantees a reserved seat in the prime viewing position opposite the chutes for the whole event.
If you have visitors coming to town for rodeo, a great way for them to see the sights are on one of our tours, which are all available to book on our website. The Mount Isa Discovery Tour takes visitors above and underground and ends with a breathtaking sunset over a desert lake.
The Mount Isa Unearthed tour visits local attractions, there’s also a Rodeo Experience and Ultimate Rodeo Experience Tour. The Ultimate Rodeo Experience includes a three-day gold seat pass, the Isa Rodeo Street Party, Mailman Express, Bush Poets Breakfast, Mount Isa Unearthed Tour plus a premium chute tour.
If you have visitors coming to town for rodeo and can’t squeeze them in at home, we have a Pop Up Tent City in addition to our usual Swag City.
The Pop Up Tent City is the ultimate in convenience – the tent is already set up for you, with all bedding, linen, camp chair and even a hot cooked breakfast on the weekend is included.
Tickets to the Bell & Moir Toyota Isa Rodeo Ball are selling fast, so please contact our office as soon as possible if you are keen to celebrate rodeo’s night of nights.
Last year’s ball was a fabulous evening, and at this year’s gala event our venue will be transformed into “Buchanan’s Old Time Music Hall”, complete with a whisky and cigar bar.
The ball will be held at the Entertainment Centre at Buchanan Park Event Complex on Saturday, August 5 from 6.30pm for a 7pm start.
Tickets are $140 per person, including a delicious three-course meal, and chance to win a lucky door prize.
We are now less than 50 days to go until rodeo, and looking forward to presenting a very special event for locals and visitors alike.
