PRE-tournament favorites Auretta Perrin and Angie Sciascia lived up to their billing by taking out the women’s foursomes event at the Mount Isa Golf Club.

Perrin and Sciascia’s strong gross score of 84 set them up for victory in the first event of the City of Mount Isa Golf Open on Saturday.
The pair ended up twelve shots ahead of runners-up Kirra White and Louise Faint (96 gross) to claim the DSI open women’s foursomes title.
In the handicap department Margie McDonald and Rebecca Nankivell came up trumps with an impressive 68 nett. Alison Gordon-Dunbar and Eva Gordon were awarded nett runners-up after a handy round carding a 75.5 nett.
Sunday saw the ladies take the field again, this time teaming up with the men to contest the Open Mixed Foursomes. First-time pair Kirra White and Matt Bryant proved an upset with an accurate performance earning them the Gross Champions trophy on 79 gross.
Auretta Perrin and Mike Ruri recorded an 81 gross to claim the runners-up status.
Handicap honours went to the combination of Leila Cashmore and Josh Munokoa with an impressive 65 nett only just edging out their nearest rivals Margie McDonald and Tony Simpson by 2 points when they finished with an equally impressive 67 nett.

Sunday: Tom Nankivell (2nd), Auretta Perrin (10th), Chris Thinee (14th) and Mike Ruri (18th).
This weekend competition acted as a perfect warm-up for all the players before this week’s Open competition.
