An Australian Gold Men’s, Women’s Green and Women’s Gold team were also named to compete at the 2017 International Friendship Series from July 3-7 at Redlands Softball Association - the first time the event has been held outside of NSW.
Seven teams will line up in the Men’s competition and nine the Women’s competition including the two Softball Australia senior teams (Green and Gold) and a Queensland Invitational team in each.
The U23 Womens and Mens National Championship will be held in the same location July 5-8.
The International Friendship Series is an annual tournament that presents a valuable opportunity for these players to take part in an international standard competition, and is the first step for many towards selection in National Junior and Open team.
It is also used to assist with talent identification for aspiring national athletes of the future as well as providing a foundation for skill development.
