A water main burst on the Barkly Highway at about 1pm across from the Shell Service Station. The water flowed a short distance to the intersection of Camooweal Street.
Mount Isa City Council’s director of compliance and utilities Mike Salmon said that council workers repaired the main. “We’re not sure what caused it. They are pretty old pipes. They do blow occasionally.”
