He stands alongside the heroes he had in his youth including former players Gordon Tallis and Wendell Sailor who have also made the dream team.
As they waited to be announced as the dream team during Round 17’s Broncos game against Storm on June 30, it was a great opportunity for Prince to remind Tallis and Sailor of “the cheeky kid” who once bragged to them at Townsville Airport.
Prince was about 17-years-old when he met his heroes at the airport. They teased each other “giving each other a bit of stick.”
“Don’t worry about it boys. I will be playing against you guys in a couple of years time,” Prince told them.
A few years later as Prince began playing for Broncos, Sailor and Tallis remembered him. “That’s that little bugger there,” they said.
Being part of the dream team more than 15 years later was a good time for Prince to remind them of this story.
