The publicity brands The Great Pie Trail as a ‘war’ between seven local cafes, restaurants and bakeries but it would be more like a collaboration.
The Mount Isa Tourism Association launched the pie trail last week.
Former My Kitchen Rules contestants Jac and Shaz will be judging the best pie but a popular vote will be available on the tourism association’s Facebook page. The winning pie will be announced on August 17.
The association’s chair Garry Murray said the pie trail was “in the name of friendly competition and fun. The response has been very positive,” he said.
The businesses involved are the Buffs Club, Outback at Isa cafe, the Smoking Gun Cafe, the Coffee Club, Copperhill Grill, Brew and Scoop, and Grants Cakes and Pies.
