Caryll Evans and Tony and Sandra McGrady were there on behalf of the Mount Isa Show Society to hand over a cheque to the school.
Ms Evans said the cheque was for $200 and it was as a result of the Special School winning the best school exhibit at the 2017 Mount Isa Show.
“People put the name of the school they like best in the box and the Special School was the people’s choice, just pipping Barkly State School and Central came in third,” she said.
School principal Geoff Miller thanked the Show Society at Friday’s school’s assembly and said the School would get together to decide the best way to use the money. The kids spent many hours putting together the artwork for the display.
