Cloncurry’s Naidoc Week celebrations culminated in a march around town on Friday morning, followed by live entertainment at Cloncurry State School grounds.
Ali S performed songs from his new album to students, teachers, and parents before his appearance at the Boulia Camel Races on Saturday.
Celebrations finished off with in a comedian at the precinct on Friday night and the Naidoc gala dinner on Saturday night.
Cloncurry Mayor Greg Campbell said it had been a successful week, thanks to the Naidoc committee.
"Hopefully they’ll have a chance to relax for the evening and enjoy themselves because a lot of hard work has gone into this week-long celebration,” Cr Campbell said.
“Every student at both schools were there, proudly marching and celebrating the culture of our Mitakoodi tribe and Aboriginal history in general, and flying the flag for their schools as well.”
An inter-school art competition was also on display in the David Harvey-Sutton gallery for Naidoc Week.
Ali S also performed in Florence Clark Park on Thursday night, to rave reviews.
