Brisbane-based Alliance Airlines has launched its first scheduled commercial passenger routes, after success in the contract and charter flight provider.

The airline completed its first trips out of Brisbane on Monday, flying to Gladstone, Bundaberg and Port Macquarie.
Jet services will run between Brisbane and the three new destinations, with 34 weekly flights between Gladstone and 14 each between Bundaberg and Port Macquarie.
Alliance Airlines chief executive Lee Schofield said while it was a separate company, the airline's agreements with Virgin Australia meant there were new opportunities to service regional Queensland.
"It's the best of both worlds. All Alliance passengers will be able to enjoy Virgin Australia's Velocity points and lounge access, with the added bonus of our jet services to the three ports, which means a faster and smoother ride," he said.
"We are excited to be flying to our three new destinations and are encouraged by the enthusiastic support we have received from the cities and communities."
Mr Schofield said for now the airline would be kept busy rolling out the three new flight routes, but would love to expand to more regional Queensland destinations in the future.
To celebrate the expansion, the airline has offered 1000 seats at low launch prices.
Passengers will be able to book one-way $59 fares between Brisbane and Bundaberg and Gladstone, as well as $69 seats to and from Port Macquarie. These prices include taxes, snacks and baggage.
Bookings can be made until Sunday (July 23) through travel agents and the Virgin Australia website, on selected flights between July 20 and August 31.
