Greg Campbell vows go-kart rallies in other towns will be like “driving Miss Daisy” compared to the gradient of the lookout track.
“We will have some sort of competition, I’m sure. I am keen now, people will have to put more effort into it because this will get some pace up.”
The lookout’s $142,000 upgrade was recently completed, with the lighting the last thing to be finished.
“The unpowered vehicle record is 84 miles an hour, so we may not be targeting it. I would definitely not like to go down it just in a backyard billy cart with a few bits of timber slapped together.
“There are a number of quite big rallies or races in other towns. Without knocking them the gradient of the track is Driving Miss Daisy compared to what ours will be,” Cr Campbell said.
He first referred to go-karting in February when discussing the lookout’s upgrades.
