“The 2016/2017 Local Business Network has been successful with initiatives such as the shop local campaign and local business networking functions,” Cloncurry Shire Council Mayor Greg Campbell said.
“I would like to congratulate all of the members on the work they have put into the Local Business Network over 12 months.”
The Local Business Network acts as a de facto chamber of commerce and it informs and recommend actions to Council for local business development in the Shire.
In November the Local Business Network launched a shop local campaign ahead of Christmas with over 30 businesses in town participating.
The campaign was aimed at thinking locally first and promoting local business.
It’s an idea the Mayor wants to make sure is kept with the new committee.
“Cloncurry Shire Council is looking forward to future committees helping Council in an inclusive approach to supporting local businesses,” he said.
Membership nomination forms to join the Local Business Network are available online at www.cloncurry.qld.gov.au or at the Council Office on Sheaffe St.
The closing date for nominations is 5pm Thursday August 3, 2017.
