Organised by Alison Whitehead of Gecko Outdoor Sports, the race involves a number of challenges and dares with a time limit of three hours and penalties for being back late.
This type of race has been run in many cities of the world but this is a first for Mount Isa.
Urban Dare teams can expect to run or walk up to 10km with some challenges at famous Mount Isa landmarks and some off the beaten track.
Starting at 10am on Sunday at Outback at Isa. teams will need to decide their own route once course details are provided.
This information will be given 15 minutes prior to the start.
Teams will need to think on their feet and use initiative to complete the course, gaining as many dare bonus points as possible.
The dare is helping raise funds for Cystic Fibrosis.
You can register here until Friday.
