Natural Beauty Mount Isa has been nominated for four Australian Beauty Industry Awards and will be attending the beauty expo while they are in town for the awards.
This is their second year nominated, and their second year as finalists.
Salon owner Reegyn McElligott said the salon is nominated in four categories; Customer Care, Owner and Director of the Year, Best Beauty Salon (four treatment rooms or fewer), and Salon Team of the Year.
“That’s our favourite one – Salon Team of the Year,” Reegyn said.
“I look at myself and the team that I have here, as one of the best teams I've ever worked with.
“If you don’t have a good team, how are you going to deliver amazing customer service?” Reegyn said.
“We’re super excited.”
The ‘medi clinic’ has featured in the annual Northern Outback Local Awards since 2012, and was inducted into their Hall of Fame in 2015.
Reegyn said the team is focused on keeping up with the forward-thinking Australian beauty industry.
“We decided last year and this year we were going to step out and become more involved in the industry and really put Outback on the map for beauty,” Reegyn said.
“You know, there aren’t very many beauty places out here, but it’s also about our point of difference – being able to deliver five-star beauty service in the Outback, between Mount Isa and regional areas.”
The company travels to Cloncurry, Julia Creek, and Boulia monthly to deliver services, including the most scientifically researched facial treatments you can imagine.
The salon offers advanced treatments such as radio frequency skin tightening, photo rejuvenation, microdermabrasion, and the latest technology in hair removal.
The business has come a long way in its seven years since Reegyn started offering spray-tanning at the age of 19.
“Now we have really transformed. We barely do any spray tanning, we barely do any nails, we barely do any massage, because of the way the industry has gone,” she said.
“We’ve really kept up with times of the industry every year, where we go away for training, professional development, and looking at what customers needs, services, and wants are.
“We have a look at what else other salons don’t have, and we always go for something different.
Reegyn said the business is now focused more on clinical skin, and being results driven.
“We’ve got the latest technology in hair removal, brow feathering, and we all have higher training to do with the different functions of skin.”
The team goes away for professional development once a year.
Seven staff will attend the beauty expo, awards and extravaganza gala dinner.
There are more than 200 entries for each category, and just five finalists each.
Reegyn is planning on launching a make-up range in September, ‘Face by R’, which she has been working towards releasing for the past three years.
