The power outage affected the Cloncurry Merry Muster Festival at around 11.55am.
Traffic lights were out of order on Marian Street and the Barkly Highway in Mount Isa.
Power returned to most Mount Isa suburbs within an hour.
Ergon has been uncontactable since the power cut.
