The two day clinic will be held in September.
Event organiser Amber Battle said that the 12 spots in the two day workshop have been filled, assuming there were no cancellations, but that spectator tickets were still available.
Students will be coming from the Northern Territory, Winton, and Normanton to learn from Camarillo, said Ms Battle.
“I just wanted to give the opportunity to go to one of her clinics without having to drive so far.
“She is a bit of a hero for me.”
Ms Battle began learning to barrel race when she was 10-years-old and living in Mount Isa. She started training at Argylla Pony Club.
When she was 12 her grandmother bought her a book about barrel racing, and it was written by Camarillo.
Five years ago Ms Battle was living in Moranbah when she had the chance to attend Camarillo’s clinic in Capella.
Ms Battle learned much from it and believed Camarillo ran a professional clinic. Students would gain many techniques from it.
It was the first time Ms Battle had hosted an event such as this.
“I just want the opportunity for other ladies around here. We do not get many clinics and schools out here because we are so far from everything.”
The clinic will be held September 9 and 10, and begins 8am each day.
Spectator tickets at the clinic are $50. Lunch is provided. To purchase tickets contact Amber Battle on 0437932792.
