Glencore had admitted the truck which was involved in an accident 50km west of Julia Creek on Wednesday was theirs.
A spokesperson said a road train carrying Glencore products from Mount Isa was involved in a road incident.
“The driver was not injured, and no other vehicles were involved,” the spokesperson said.
“Safe performance is critically important to us and the incident is currently being investigated.
Julia Creek officer in charge Sgt Mark Milligan said the trailers became detached from the truck on the highway on a straight stretch of road.
“There was no injuries and no spillage,” Sgt Milligan said.
The accident happened around 1pm and one lane was closed while emergency services attended.
Les Moffitt of the Rail Tram and Bus Union said it was alarming to see yet another road train accident on the highway.
“The truck was hauling products from a Glencore Mine which traditionally was placed on rail for the journey to the coast,” Mr Moffitt said.
“Locals are becoming concerned over the ever growing number of truck movements between Townsville to Mt Isa while they see a very underutilised rail system being over looked by the multinational companies such as Glencore.
“These companies do not seem to have any real duty of care for the general public who are confronted with large truck loads of products being conveyed on a day basis both night and day past their front door.
A Glencore spokesperson said they temporarily increased its use of road trains to transport its products to Townsville in February this year while awaiting delivery of new Pacific National intermodal wagons.
“The bulk of our products are now back on the rail,” the spokesperson said.
“We support any government measures to increase the commercial competitiveness of rail transport in the region.”

The Flinders Hwy is cut in both directions after a single vehicle rollover between Julia Creek and Cloncurry this afternoon.
A roadtrain rolled over around 1pm this afternoon 50km west of Julia Creek.
Emergency workers are at the scene and delays are expected.
There is no news yet on any injuries.
