The woman - who had been visiting the area from Rockhampton - was walking along the track at around 1.30pm when she fell, suffering a suspected fractured ankle.
The Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) treated the woman, before the Mount Isa RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter landed at the scene. She was airlifted to Mount Isa Hospital for treatment.
The rescue was the sixth mission performed in the new BK117 helicopter, following its arrival in Mount Isa three weeks ago.
