The exhibition features 140 plus paintings from Urandangie Pub owner Pam Forster’s collection, purchased over 10 years from artists travelling through the tiny town.
Exhibition curator Kim-Maree Burton welcomed the Premier to the pop-up gallery on West Street, introduced her to Ms Forster, and explained the context of the collection.
“This is Pam’s personal collection of art, which she has collected over ten years.”
“The sale of the paintings goes back 100 per cent to the community of Urandangie, through Pam’s work with the Indigenous people there,” Ms Burton said.
Ms Forster presented the Premier with a framed painting to thank her for taking time to visit the gallery.
“Thank you, that’s gorgeous. It will go in my office,” Ms Palaszczuk said.
Two children from Urandangie, Takara and Isaac, gave Ms Palaszczuk a bouquet, and posed for photos.
Ms Palaszczuk was accompanied by several staff including Sandra McGrady, and by new Labour candidate for Traegar, Danielle Slade.
