In a major coup for Canberra soccer fans Olympic secured the Jets deal on Tuesday thanks to connections from Socceroos star Tom Rogic's manager Andy Bernal.

Olympic burst onto the national stage last year after hosting Sydney FC in the FFA Cup semi-final but were denied A-Leage action this season after crashing out in the round of 32 in Perth last month.

Coach Frank Cachia said this fixture doesn't ease the pain of that loss but acknowledged it would ensure national exposure for his men for the second straight year.

"No it doesn't help accepting that loss, it's a completely different thing, we'd love to still be part of that tournament but it is what it is," Cachia said.

"We've been doing this sort of stuff for the last couple of years, we played Central Coast a couple of years ago and before that Western Sydney Wanderers, we try to build our relaionship with A-Leaue clubs and it's good exposure for the boys.

"For guys like Stephen Domenici, Daniel Colbertaldo, Nick Bobolas, Josh Gulevski it's an enormous boost, as much as these guys chose to play for Olympic we told them this is part of joining our club.

"They're at a club that's pushing them to go to higher levels and we're backing up our promises to make sure we give them as much as exposure as we can and a chance to trial in front of an A-League side."

Olympic are on track for the treble after already securing the the NPL Capital Football premiership and Federation Cup this season.

The match will be played in second week of finals and Olympic coach Frank Cachia said the friendly will provide the perfect preparation as they chase a third straight championship.

"We play major semi on the Saturday and we'll play the following Tuesday, so depending on how we go we'll have a prelim coming up or the week off, either way the timing is just about perfect," Cachia said.

"We've been speaking to the Jets for a little while but needed to accommodate the FFA Cup and when they get knocked out a couple of weeks ago we moved to make it happen."

Bernal used to manage superstar David Beckham and is currently working with several Olympic players with the intention of progressing them to the A-League.

Cachia praised the player manager and will make a special arrangement for Bernal on match day.

"Andy has been a really big supporter for the club over in the three years I've been there, his networks and duties with clubs, especially the Jets has helped us significantly," Cachia said.

"He's been instrumental in making this happen and will be part of the coaching group for the day, he'll be in sheds and on the bench with me."
