Queensland is leading the nation for employment growth, with 27,000 people finding a job last month, but the state is lagging behind when it comes to wages.

In seasonally-adjusted terms, the largest increase in employment in July was in Queensland, Australian Bureau of Statistics data released on Thursday shows.
That included 8300 net new jobs created in July in Queensland.
The Queensland unemployment rate fell from 6.5 per cent in June to 6.2 per cent in July, seasonally adjusted.
However, that was tied second worst with South Australia, only coming behind Tasmania at 6.3 per cent.
Average full time weekly earnings for Queensland adults was $1496, according to the latest data, putting the state only ahead of Tasmania and South Australia for wages.
Across the nation, earnings increased by 1.8 per cent to $1543 in the 12 months to May.
Treasurer Curtis Pitt praised the fact the state's trend unemployment rate remained steady at 6.3 per cent in July.
"Which is saying that we are now collectively across the state really bolstering down for a downward trend in terms of unemployment," he said.
"What is the most important figure though, is that since coming to office, the Palaszczuk government has achieved more than 94,500 net new jobs in Queensland."
Wage growth grew by 2.4 per cent in the Queensland public sector compared to 1.8 per cent in the private sector over 12 months to the June quarter.
Across Australia, wages grew by 1.9 per cent over the year.
ABS chief economist Bruce Hockman said low wages growth reflected, in part, ongoing spare capacity in the labour market.
"Underemployment, in particular, is an indicator of labour market spare capacity and a key contributor to ongoing low wages growth," he said.
Opposition treasury spokesman Scott Emerson said Queensland pay packets were not keeping up with the spiralling cost of living.
"Public sector wages growth is again outstripping private sector growth as Annastacia Palaszczuk bloats the bureaucracy instead of creating jobs in small business," Mr Emerson said.
More than 3000 public servants joined the public service in the March quarter, a 1.55 per cent increase.
In May, an Audit Office report said the Queensland government was facing "significant financial risk" due to an increase in the number of highly paid public servants in recent years.
In 2016, Treasurer Curtis Pitt promised to keep growth in the public service, on average over the forward estimates, aligned with population growth, which is predicted to track at 1.5 per cent.
