It will be alleged the man swerved between lanes, crossed onto the wrong side of the Bruce Highway and tailgated other drivers, all while a young child was in the passenger seat.

Police said officers initially intercepted a vehicle on the Bruce Highway at the Glass House Mountains about 3pm after it crossed onto the wrong side of the road towards an oncoming police car.

The driver allegedly returned a blood-alcohol reading of .242 at Landsborough Police Station and was charged with drink-driving.

Just under six hours later, police received reports of a vehicle allegedly swerving in and out of traffic, tailgating and side-swiping a car on the Bruce Highway at Morayfield.

Police said officers pulled over the vehicle and the same man returned a blood-alcohol reading of .248 at Boondall Police Station.

A 41-year-old Boondall man was charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, driving under the influence of liquor and disqualified driving. He was refused bail and was due in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on Monday.

A young child, who was a passenger in the vehicle, was not physically injured. The driver of the vehicle which was allegedly side-swiped was also uninjured.
